My task this week was to come up with "a contemporary couple". So I researched family, friends, movies, facebook to get an idea of how to visualise this. Statistically more couples are co habiting rather than marrying these days due to recession, also we live in a technology obsessed society. How many people do you know that dont communicate via social networking sites.We work longer hours, less pay and more stress and all these elements affect our relationships. I took all this into consideration when drawing the couple. I chose to illustrate the couple in a toon painterly style.
The story so far....
Mr Apple and Miss Blackberry live together in a flat in Manchester. They have been together 2 years and have a 1 year old son.
Miss Blackberry is off for a two week vacation to Bermuda with her girls " leaving Mr Apple to takecare of their child. Hence the reason he is looking up babysitters on his ipad so he can watch England play in the World Cup!
The next stage is to swop ideas with a random course mate and continue an idea in their visual style!
